Dear Members,
As we bid farewell to the chill of winter and welcome the promise of spring, I extend warm greetings and solidarity to each and every one of you.
I am proud to announce that our collective efforts have borne fruit as we have successfully ratified an agreement with Norway House and Cross Lake. This accomplishment underscores the strength and unity of our union, demonstrating once again that together, we can achieve remarkable victories for our members.
Looking ahead, we are eagerly preparing for upcoming negotiations with Hudbay and Frontier School Division Area 4. These negotiations present opportunities for us to secure fair wages, improved working conditions, and enhanced benefits for our members. Rest assured, we will approach these bargaining sessions with determination, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to your best interests.
Additionally, I want to remind everyone that March will be nomination month for your executive positions. This is your chance to step forward, make your voice heard, and play an active role in shaping the future of our union. I encourage all eligible members to participate in the democratic process that governs our organization.
As we embark on this new season, let us reaffirm our dedication to fighting for the rights and well-being of every member. Our union's strength lies in our collective unity, and together, we will continue to advocate fiercely on behalf of our members, both now and in the future.
In solidarity,
Tom Davie

Dear Brother or Sister:
As President of USW Local 7106 I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to your Union.
We are the Steelworkers and we represent workers throughout Manitoba, at mines, schools, group homes, lumber, diamond drills and the list goes on. We have over 1200 members in our Local alone. Representing workers is our job. This is however your Union and it will be as strong as you make it. The more you stand up for others, the stronger we become, this is your Union. The more you and your Brothers and Sisters become involved the stronger we will be. The stronger we are as a Union the better we are able to represent you.
How can you help make this a strong Union? By becoming involved and there are many opportunities for you to participate. We offer excellent education programs for Shop Stewards and Safety Committee Stewards (Due to Covid, we are just starting to get back into the education programs). These are the front line for making positive changes and representing your follow workers. We also have multiple committees which you can participate in as well. Remember the more people involved the stronger we become.
In Solidarity,
Tom Davie

The seeds of this great union were planted in the late 1800s by our fathers and mothers, our grandparents, our great-grandparents and so on. They were seeds of commitment, solidarity and a common interest to fight for better conditions for working men and women everywhere. Through wars and recessions, good times and bad times, we established our family roots: better wages, job security, reasonable hours and safer working conditions. Thanks to the strength and activism of our members, our branches reached out to lead movements to stop child labour, provide aid to injured workers, universal healthcare, fight for retirees, stand up for human rights and so much more. Today, we are a strong union, bold and proud. We continue to believe in better, and together, we are still standing up and fighting back for everyone.
Our Executive team, Stewarts and union staff are committed to helping and supporting our members. We take your work issues and turn them into action.Think you may need help? Get in touch for more information!
